The annual Lifestart Dads’ Weekend Away will be on the weekend of 28th, 29th & 30th November staying at ‘The Grange’ in Mt Victoria in the Blue Mountains. This is a ‘time out’ weekend with activities being whatever you want to make them: be it golf, bushwalking or simply lazing about. It’s also a great opportunity to meet with other Lifestart dads. The annual Lifestart Eastern Sydney Family Fun & Kite Day takes place on Sunday 31st August from 10am to 2pm in the grounds of Maroubra Bay Public School, on the corner of Duncan Street & Malabar Road Maroubra. There will be heaps of things to do and see including kite making and flying, Tumbledown Climbing Gym, Jumping Castle, Petting Zoo, Face Painting by Rainbow Fairies, Maroubra Lions Sausage Sizzle and a Giant Car Boot Sale.  There’ll be live entertainment too from local school bands and choral groups, Adele’s Action Kids, Dreaming of Jeannie, Groovetown and a magician. As well as all this, Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club will be launching its great new nippers program for kids with disabilities. Special guests will be the Hon. Kristine Keneally MP, Member for Heffron, Minister for Ageing, Minister for Disability Services, Michael Daley MP, Member for Maroubra and Paul Pearce MP, Member for Coogee.

Lifestart’s Northern Beaches Annual Charity Golf, Dinner & Auction will be held on Thursday June 5, 2008, at the Monash Country Club.

High in the hills above Narrabeen on the beautiful northern beaches, the magnificent Monash Golf course is the perfect setting for our annual charity golf day. Imagine yourself, friends and business colleagues enjoying the fresh air, unique bushland and ocean views while playing a round of golf.

For all you mad keen golfers and those who love a social round, Lifestart is holding it’s first golf day for 2008 at Barnwell Park Golf Club in Five Dock. This is a 9 hole competition in a casual atmosphere and will be held on Sunday 9th March.

Celebrating International Day of People with a Disability, Lifestart’s Family Fun Day is designed for all types of families! Kids will love the ride on trains, jumping castles and craft, Dad will enjoy the vintage car club displays - Minis and Austins - and Mum can browse the craft and market stalls (or she might prefer the cars too). The whole family can visit the Police information booth and have their finger prints taken then find out more about Lifestart and how we help special kids with Autism, Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for some great prizes and of course there will be a sausage sizzle and coffee van.

There’s lots more to see, do and eat so join in the fun on Sunday 2nd December and help celebrate International Day of People with a Disability.
