Lifestart is an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach across the Central Coast region. We work in partnership to empower children aged 0-9 years and their families, building their capacity so they have the tools to reach their full potential.
Bringing your early intervention experience to Lifestart, our Central Coast team is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to lead our team. The position is offered on a full time, maximum term basis until 30 June 2026 and is located in Gosford.
As Team Leader, you will provide leadership and guidance to a team of Coordinators. Your role includes promoting a positive and collaborative environment, coaching and supporting the team, sharing your expertise and technical knowledge of best practice early childhood intervention, and ensuring effective service delivery to the children and families we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day operational leadership including overseeing a diverse array of activities throughout the employee lifecycle including recruitment and induction activities, leave and travel expenses management, work-from-home arrangements, talent development and performance management, and offboarding.
- fostering an agile and collaborative work environment, including transparent communication within the team, internal departments and external stakeholders
- caseload allocations, ensuring equitable distribution and efficient utilisation of resources
- managing escalations for complex caseloads, address complaints and handle feedback efficiently.
- performance monitoring to track OKRs and PMFs including conducting regular supervision and training, to enhance team member skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular reviews of service delivery standards and documentation to ensure compliance with NDIS and Lifestart quality assurance measures, and address non-conformances
- Provide site and risk management oversight, identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities including offsite monitoring, and Working in Multi-Environments
- Child safety / mandatory reporting guidance and management
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience leading and managing teams, including proven ability to successfully mentor, coach and motivate a team, fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delay, including in-depth knowledge of early childhood intervention best practices within the disability sector
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NDIS Early Childhood Approach, including Quality and Safeguarding principles and mandatory reporting requirements
- Highly developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and make informed decisions. Capable of foreseeing challenges, finding solutions, and resolving conflict
- Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and needs within the work environment, while guiding the team to be flexible, resilient and responsive to changes
- Technical proficiency using IT tools and systems including MS Office, Echidna and PACE
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders. Strong organisational skills to efficiently manage daily operations and administrative tasks.
Essential Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in human services, social sciences, allied health, education, disability, management
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience supervising a team
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia
- Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) Clearance
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance
- Fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 Virus or accepted medical exemption certificate
- Current driver’s licence and use of own car to visit clients across the INSERT region, as required

Effective rapport is built with participants and their families resulting in willingness to accept assistance and intervention. Strong external and internal relationships are formed and maintained for service development and best practice delivery. Actively develop and maintain supportive relationships with all staff. |
Communication and Accountability : | Open communication with the EC Service Area Manager and senior management regarding issues or risks within the area of services to ensure continual program development. Effectively ensure all information is treated in a way that respects the individual clients right to confidentiality and dignity. Comply with Lifestart policies and procedures and other relevant standards for service provision. |
