Unlike many NDIS providers, we’ve been around long before the NDIS scheme began – proudly started by families for families.

Almost thirty years ago, eight devoted mums and dads were united by a single belief – that the support systems available for children with disability could do more. They received a small grant to run a support program from a classroom in their local school. Lifestart was born.

We now operate out of eight locations and supports over 15,000 children and young people, as well as their families, across Australia. It’s a success we’re proud of because it is a success built on lived experience and a genuine desire to change lives for the better.

As we’ve grown, our purpose has remained the same – to empower children and young people with disability and developmental delay to reach their full potential. We do this by creating tailored support programs that recognise the uniqueness and strengths of each child, and by partnering with their families, carers and the communities they’re a part of. This support is delivered by our passionate Allied Health Professionals, including Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Behaviour Support Practitioners, alongside a range of experts in child development, including Specialist Early Childhood Educators.

We believe every child has the right to be fully included in their community and, with the right supports in place, can have the future they deserve.
