Lifestart’s history
Lifestart was established in 1996 by a group of eight families, who wanted more involvement in their children’s program, with a small amount of funding from the then NSW Department of Ageing and Disability. Our first program was run in a single classroom at Turramurra Public School. Over the past year, Lifestart supported over 10,000 children and young people, their families and their carers across greater Sydney and surrounds.
Lifestart’s programs and services have made a significant difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families. Lifestart was founded on evidence-based practice including a family-centred approach. We’re proud to have been established by families and our family-centred approach will always remain at the core of our philosophy.
