Who is Lifestart?
Lifestart supports children and young people living with a disability, as well as their families and communities, to reach their full potential. We do this by creating tailored support programs that recognise the uniqueness and strengths of each child. This support is delivered by our passionate Allied Health Professionals, including Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners and more.
Lifestart was established in 1996 by a group of eight families who wanted more involvement in their children’s support.
Our first program was run in a single classroom at Turramurra Public School. Now, Lifestart supports over 10,000 children and young people every year, face-to-face in New South Wales and through online support programs accessed across the country.
We believe every child has the right to be fully included in their communities, and with the right supports in place, can do so and lead the lives they deserve.
We are a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registered Provider. If you do not have an NDIS plan, you can contact the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to find out more here. You can also ask about our online programs that can be undertaken without NDIS funding
We are also an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s early childhood approach in five regions in NSW. Our passionate Early Childhood Coordinators will help you find out if you’re eligible to access the NDIS and get you the right support through the Early Childhood Intervention scheme.
