Behaviour Support Practitioner
We’re looking for passionate Behaviour Support Practitioners (Core, Proficient or Advanced) to join Lifestart and support children and young people to achieve their goals. You’ll have the opportunity to work in homes, early childhood settings, schools, and local communities, delivering positive behaviour support that makes a real impact.
This is a permanent position with full-time and part-time opportunities available (minimum 3 days per week). Lifestart operates Monday to Friday, and it is highly desirable if you are available to work until 6pm.
We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Practitioners in the following areas:

Northern Sydney – Supporting families across Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai, with some work in Ryde and Parramatta. Office based in Turramurra.

Central Sydney – Supporting families in either of the following areas (please indicate your preferred area in your cover letter). Office located in Rhodes.

Burwood, Strathfield, Canterbury Bankstown, and Cumberland LGAs

Southern Sydney and the Sutherland Shire

Western Sydney – Supporting families across the Blacktown LGAs. Office based in Baulkham Hills.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in collaborative goal setting with families and complete Functional Behaviour Assessments to identify areas of need and support the development of practical evidence-based support strategies.
- Develop person centred Behaviour Support Plans that uphold the rights of people with disability, improve quality of life and reduce the use of restrictive practices.
- Work with a varied caseload alongside a team of experienced allied health professionals including speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
- Build the capacity and confidence of families, teachers and support workers to implement positive and proactive strategies and skill building programs through direct coaching and mentoring support.
- Continue to develop your expertise through high levels of supervision and support to progress through the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework practitioner levels.
Key Selection Criteria:
Qualifications
- Registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core, Proficient or Advanced level
- Experience and/or interest in using person and family centred, strength-based approaches
Essential
- Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 Virus (3 doses) or accepted medical exemption certificate
- Current driver’s licence and use of own car
