Role Purpose:

To work collaboratively as part of the team with a focus on facilitating the participation and inclusion of children and young people with disability or development delay, and their families/carers. Providing intervention, support and strategies. Be part of a supportive workplace that provides targeted clinical supervision and professional development opportunities. You will have access to senior clinicians working across disciplines to develop your skills and experience in a range of areas related to your practice. Lifestart’s person centred approach means you will have opportunities and support to identify your strengths and development priorities and to work with a varied caseload. You will have access to a range of custom training materials and resources to support your daily practice.

Our team works flexibly with clients in a tailored model that may involve providing a mixture of supports online, at Lifestart sites and face to face in homes, schools, and the community.

 

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA Registration

Essential

  • Relevant experience preferably to clients with additional needs, disability or delay
  • Experience in using person and family centred, strength-based approaches
  • Experience conducting assessments and prescribing equipment
  • Highly organised, and able to work with technology in a changing environment
  • Understanding of inclusion, cultural sensitivities and the needs of diverse communities
  • Valid Working with Children Check Clearance
  • Successful pre-employment police check
  • A current driver’s licence and use of own car

Deliver assessments, intervention supports and other appropriate strategies to achieve outcomes.

Monitor and evaluate service delivery with individual clients through reflective practice

Effectively handle complex, sensitive issues and ensure all information is treated in a way that respects the individual clients right to confidentiality and dignity.

Understand relevant compliance legislation, quality standards and Lifestart policies and procedures.

Positively represent Lifestart in all opportunities, role modelling the Code of Conduct and actively supporting the mission, vision and values.
Reporting, Documentation &
Administration:
Carry out reporting, documentation and administration tasks including service records and billing.

Maintain case notes, plans and required documentation on Lifestart’s Client Record Management system.

Comply with organisational requirements for the accurate and timely completion of documentation.
