HOME & BLOG

Lifestart, a registered charity, provides early childhood intervention and school aged services to children with additional needs, including Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, global developmental delay and rare genetic disorders. Lifestart provides a family centred approach to meeting the needs of children living with disability and their families.  It is based on the concept of partnership with children, families and carers to assist and empower them to participate meaningfully and inclusively in our community.

Lifestart’s Musica Viva Concert a Huge Success

Lifestart in conjunction with Musica Viva was proud to present the Sydney Omega Ensemble playing a selection of Crussell, Beethoven and Mozart for Lifestart to raise funds for early childhood intervention services for kids from birth to school age who have a disability or developmental delay.

The Sydney Omega ensemble was formed in 2005 by a group of vibrant performers with a wealth of enthusiasm and musical skill.  The Ensemble has since developed a strong presence in the Sydney classical music scene.  Held in the beautiful Knox Grammar School Chapel on Pacific Highway, Wahroonga on 31 October 2010, Lifestart welcomed over 150 guests who thoroughly enjoyed the Spring Afternoon Concert with champagne and hors d’ouvres giving guests a chance to mingle following the concert.

The Spring Concert was a wonderful success and a great tribute to the families who worked so hard to organise the concert, as well as the people supporting it in so many ways.  The concert raised much needed funds for Lifestart, at the same time increasing awareness as to the needs of families and children living with disability or developmental delay.

To assist on the day, employees from The Trust Company and AC Nielsen played an important part in the running of the concert making light work of greeting guests and then clearing up after the event.  Many thanks go to our volunteers.  Thanks also to the many people who made very generous donations to Lifestart.
