More Than Words is an internationally recognised parent training program that provides you with the tools, strategies and support to understand your child’s unique needs and to help build their communication and social skills in everyday life.
The program includes 8 online parent group sessions and 4 online one-on-one sessions run by Lifestart’s specially trained Speech Pathologists. It can be undertaken anywhere in Australia.
Is this program suitable for me?
More Than Words is designed for parents of Autistic children, 0-5 years of age or with other social communication difficulties. To get the most out this program, you will need to attend all the online parent group sessions and individual sessions. Your child will not be able to attend the parent groups but can be present for your individual sessions
You can pay for the cost of this program through your NDIS funding. This program is online and you will need access to a computer or tablet to join. Hanen More Than Words Online Group
Lifestart loves helping parents build skills to teach their children. One of our favourite group programs is Hanen’s More Than Words. It is a popular program with parents of Autistic children or those who are yet to be diagnosed with Autism but show Autistic traits.

- A 12-week intensive program to help you learn how to connect with your child
- Interactive group sessions with other parents and our highly skilled Speech Therapists

- Practical strategies you can use every day with your child
You can use your child’s NDIS plan to pay for the program, with the maximum cost being $4,267.78, depending on the number of participants.
