Role Purpose:

To work collaboratively in providing intervention, support and strategies for children and young people with disabilities or development delay, and their families. Be part of a supportive workplace that provides targeted clinical supervision and training for graduates. You will have access to senior clinicians working across disciplines to develop your skills and experience in range of areas related to your practice. Lifestart’s person centred approach means you will have opportunities and support to identify your strengths and development priorities and to work with a varied caseload. You will have access to a range of custom training materials and resources to support your daily practice. This is a unique opportunity for a Graduate with a strong interest in working within the disability sector.

 

 

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualifications
• Degree in Speech Pathology
• Registration and/ or membership with your professional body (pending accepted)

Essential
• Relevant experience e.g. student placement or work experience supporting children and young people living with disability
• Experience and/or interest in using person and family centred, strength-based approaches
• Highly organised, and able to work with technology in a changing environment
• Understanding of inclusion, cultural sensitivities and the needs of diverse communities
• Valid Working with Children Check Clearance
• Successful pre-employment police check
• A current driver’s licence and use of own car

Deliver assessments, intervention supports and other appropriate strategies to achieve outcomes

Monitor and evaluate service delivery with individual clients through reflective practice

Effectively ensure all information is treated in a way that respects the individual clients right to confidentiality and dignity

Comply with Lifestart policies and procedures and other relevant standards for service provision

Positively represent Lifestart in all opportunities, role modelling the Code of Conduct and actively supporting the mission, vision and values

Seek support through team managers and practice lead through open communication
Reporting, Documentation &
Administration:
Carry out reporting, documentation and administration tasks including service records and billing

Maintain case notes, plans and required documentation on Lifestart’s Client Record Management system

Comply with organisational requirements for the accurate and timely completion of documentation
