On 2 November, Lifestart staff came together in person for the first time in 3 years for the Lifestart Conference.
Almost 200 staff and guests met for the day for the conference, with the theme ‘Belong and Thrive: We’re all in for inclusion’.
We were proud to host guest speakers including two keynote speakers, Summer Farrelly and Eliza Hull. Summer is a 15 year-old with a passion for animals and sharing their experience as an autistic teenager. They spoke about their perspective as an autistic student at school and how schools can better support the experience of all students. Eliza is an artist, advocate, writer and speaker. She spoke about her experience living with a neurological condition and how she works to break down social barriers by embracing her disability.
Lifestart staff also presented sessions, sharing insights from their work with our clients. This was a rare chance for staff with very different day-to-day roles to learn from one another. We heard presentations with new ideas and it was a special experience to discuss them with each other face to face.
Thank you to everyone who made the conference what it was. The energy and commitment that everyone at Lifestart brings to their work was clear. We are looking forward to seeing you all again next year.
