NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year NAIDOC week was held from 4-11 July with the theme ‘Heal Country!’.
Due to COVID-19, we were not able to meet in person to celebrate NAIDOC week. Instead, we met virtually for an online Yarnin’ Circle about ‘Heal Country’. Lifestart staff talked about what Country means to us and how we can work to recognise, protect and maintain it.
The Yarnin’ Circle was an opportunity to take time out to think about what we can do individually and as an organisation to heal Country and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
