Give your child the developmental and social benefits of experiencing live music in an interactive and inclusive setting - for free - at the Sydney Opera House.
Reserach shows that experiencing live music in a social environment can help toddlers with disability and developmental delay. Kids Sensory Music Playtime is Sydney Opera House’s fun, interactive early childhood music program designed especially for them.
Held in the beautiful sunny foyer of the Joan Sutherland theatre, this popular live music series is performed by members of Sydney Youth Orchestra and is an introduction to live music and orchestral instruments for newborns and toddlers. It is a multi-sensory experience that is accessible to very young audiences with a range of disabilities and is great for their development and enjoyment, with members of the orchestra engaging with the audience and allowing them to participate at their own wishes or pace. It has been created in partnership with leading disability services provider, Lifestart, with nationally acclaimed multi-sensory theatre company, Sensorium Theatre. Lifestart’s qualified Early Childhood Specialists attend the performance and are on hand to help in any way needed.
Best of all this event is free for all participants! You will also receive a coffee or tea voucher to redeem at the Opera House café on your way out.
