Speech Pathology Week seeks to promote the speech pathology profession and the work done by speech pathologists with the more than 1.1 million Australians who have a communication or swallowing disorder that impacts on their daily life.
To commemorate this week and celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Communication access is communication for all!’, Lifestart hosted several activities and events with our speech pathologists and other members of staff.
At our annual Speech Pathology Focus Day, our team of speech pathologists came together for a day of learning and team building exercises. Staff reflected on this year’s theme by using communication boards to communicate with each other whilst engaging in the task of making cupcakes.
Our Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park also held a silent morning tea to educate staff from other disciplines on some of the tools and technologies speech pathologists use to facilitate communication.
